It reads, " To Rita, The best painting that I have yet completed - an ultimate, a realization that I may never grasp in my life - is here, now, in this modest frame for a very dear friend of mine. My joy is not to gaze upon it, but it is to know that you will gaze upon it and enjoy perhaps more than I ever would. May I always be your dear friend, Kurt Abraham".
